Neighborhood Guide: Lynnhaven, Virginia Beach, Virginia
Overview & History of Lynnhaven, Virginia Beach
As one of the seven original Virginia Beach boroughs formed in 1963, Lynnhaven is located in the north-central portion of the city. The town’s name has changed many times throughout its history from Henry Towne, Pleasure House Point, Bayville, Chesapeake Beach, and Lynn Haven.
The original town boundaries of the Lynnhaven Parish were home to the Lynnhaven House, which is a well-preserved example of early Virginia vernacular architecture, which has survived nearly 300 years of Tidewater history. Another prominent local attraction is the Ferry Plantation House, a grand brick mansion with a Federal architectural exterior, that George McIntosh built in 1830. These are stunning examples of rich historical buildings near the neighborhood of Lynnhaven.

Joe Moran On Home Ownership in Lynnhaven
Earlier this year, my wife and I decided to dive into the homeownership journey in the Lynnhaven Woods section of Virginia Beach. Without a doubt, one of the best decisions we’ve made was partnering with Jake. Jake’s unparalleled expertise and guidance were instrumental in helping us find our dream home in this classic neighborhood, which was beautifully built in the early nineties.
Lynnhaven is more than just a location; it’s a lifestyle. I’m located off Lynnhaven and South Lynnhaven Rds; the neighborhood has wide, inviting streets and impeccably maintained yards. The homes here offer ample space, typically ranging between 2,000 and 2,500 square feet, catering to all family sizes.
But it’s not just about the houses; it’s about the sense of community. With sidewalks stretching across the entire neighborhood, it’s a haven for those who love outdoor walks. On any given day, you’ll find friendly neighbors out and about, many of whom echoed our sentiments, describing Lynnhaven Woods as a true “hidden gem.”
Its central location is the cherry on top, with abundant shopping options, plenty of restaurants, and the highway all within arm’s reach.
Looking back, I can’t emphasize enough our seamless experience with Jake. He understood our needs and introduced us to a neighborhood we’re proud to call home. If you’re considering making a move, I wholeheartedly recommend reaching out to Jake. With his expertise, you’re not just finding a house but discovering your next home.
Warmly,
Joe Moran.
