Life in Little Neck, Virginia Beach: Community Overview

Little Neck runs down a peninsula that sits along the Lynhaven River. It is one of the better places to live in Virginia Beach for its high-quality schools and family-centric amenities. You’re only about 15 minutes from Downtown Norfolk and about 15 minutes from the oceanfront itself. That makes it an excellent choice for those looking for a welcoming, higher-end community that’s quiet but close enough to the highlights of Virginia Beach.

Within the Little Neck, Virginia Beach neighborhood, you have several smaller areas along Little Neck Road. That includes Kings Grant, Malibu, Middle Plantation, and Bishops Gate. Each of these subdivisions is a bit different, but many have larger homes and lots, tree-lined streets, and small parks for walking the dog. There are also other homes and developments outside of these areas.

But what is the area really like? It’s not overly urban, as there are numerous wooded, winding roads here. At the same time, it’s upscale and far more luxurious than other areas in Virginia Beach. It’s mostly residential, which means it’s a bit longer of a drive to the bigger amenities, but that really adds to its exclusive community feel. The lush greenery and waterfront homes are a staple of this area.  As one of the great family neighborhoods in the city, it’s really worth taking a closer look at Little Neck if you plan to build a life in this region.
