The village, which was first developed in 1955, was the largest subdivision in the area. Sydney Covey: Home Ownership in Aragona Village, Virginia Beach

“As a single working late 20-something dog mom, I have truly found a great home in Aragona Village. I love how centrally located it is to all my favorite places. I love being within 15 minutes or so from Chic’s Beach, Downtown Norfolk, Greenbrier, and the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Town Center is a 15-minute walk or a 5-minute Uber drive away. I travel frequently for work, so it is also lovely to be within 15 minutes of the airport, and five intersections from I-264. I can run all my errands (pharmacy, grocery, hair salon, nail salon, gym, hardware store) within a 4-mile radius. The hardest part of living in Aragona Village is figuring out where to eat for dinner! The area is surrounded by all cuisines and my favorite chain restaurants too! Being close to all the hustle and bustle of Virginia Beach you would think there would be a lot of noise, but, unless you looked up from my backyard and saw the Westin off in the distance, you would never know I lived so close to Town Center.

I feel safe and have a sense of community in Aragona. All four of my neighbors (either side and two across the street) have lived in Aragona for more than 20 years. They look out for you and are always willing to help. I have been invited to yard sales and civic league meetings. Aragona is walkable. Many of the children in the neighborhood walk to and from school each day. I walk my dog in the evenings and see several other families doing the same. I feel comfortable walking her into the last few minutes of sunlight, as do most of my neighbors.

Aragona Village is a hidden gem in Virginia Beach, and I am so proud to call it my home.”

Thank you,

Sydney Covey

Types of homes in Aragona Village

Much of the area is home to single-family homes, though some townhomes exist here as well. Many of the homes were built in the 1950s and 1960s, though there are some new construction areas throughout the city.
aragona village single family house for sale

Home styles range widely from 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom homes to much larger 4-bedroom properties. You’ll easily find homes with an average of 1400 sqft, but there are many that are much larger. Ranches are common here, especially in some of the older areas. Larger homes, including new construction, are adding onto that space, with some offering as much as 2,800 square feet in some areas.

That’s one of the great things we often find here – diversity. You may find a beautiful home with traditional red brick, and inside is a modern, trendy space. Aragona Village homes for sale are fantastic places to live when you want to create your own space affordably.

Lot sizes of the homes for sale in Aragona Village are also quite diversified. If you’re hoping for a property with a big enough backyard to play with a dog or let the kids have that swing set they desire, you’ll find that here. Most homes have a detached style, with at least a one-car garage, a single driveway (most homes have a wider driveway), and a big front yard perfect for a game of catch.

Best Reasons to Move to Aragona Village, Virginia Beach

virginia beach oceanfront boardwalk
Virginia Beach comprises a wide range of neighborhoods. There’s quite honestly something here for everyone. However, there are a few big reasons many look to Aragona Village as a prime area to buy a home.

Location and the Lack of Commuting

map of aragona village
convenience of aragona village to highways map

It’s easy to get to the interstate to head to the beach or to make it into the Town Center area for work, school, or shopping. You can find everything you need within a short drive, and that means staying off the highway.

  • If you need to commute to Chesapeake, you can expect it to take about 20 to 25 minutes.
  • For those commuting to Norfolk, it’s even less at about 15 minutes.
  • The drive to Norfolk International Airport is under 5 miles and just over 15 miles to Chesapeake Regional Airport.
  • If you want to spend the day in Chic’s Beach, hop on Independence Blvd heading north, and you’ll be there in under 15 minutes.
  • If you want to head into Virginia Beach’s oceanfront area, the drive is under 20 minutes.

It’s about 35 minutes to get to Newport News from Aragona Village.

Affordable & Beautiful Homes in Aragona Village

Affordability in today’s Virginia Beach real estate market is critical, and Aragona Village offers options. There are homes here under $300,000, and you’ll find many of them are single-family residences that have been upgraded. Well-established, walking neighborhoods where you feel good about taking the kids to the park at the end of the street, or you can walk the dog in peace are easy to find.
beautiful homes for sale and real estate in aragona village virginia beach
The architectural style of many homes, whether a ranch or a bungalow, is versatile. Most neighborhoods do not have identical homes like in some of the more modern areas in neighboring areas.

Lots of Fun to Be Had in Aragona Village

With younger demographics, this community is a fantastic option for those who are looking for a place that meets all of their needs. For example, the Family Skating Center has fun events on the weekends, even into the winter months, to keep people of all ages busy. There’s also a significant amount of community support for the Aragona Pembroke Little League (everyone has a favorite, and a lot of the smaller restaurants in the area help to support each team). There are options for tee ball, softball, and baseball here.

For those looking for religious opportunities, several locations exist within this community, including Christ Presbyterian Church, Aragona Church of Christ, and Living Word Gospel Church. St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, the Islamic Center of Tidewater, and the Crescent Community Center are all located nearby.

The parks are fantastic in Aragona Village

mount trashmore park near aragona village virginia beach
With good accessibility to the bigger city, you may think this community is nothing more than a grid of residential neighborhoods, but it’s surprisingly “green.” Witchduck Landing Park is one of my favorite areas because of the large playground and open spaces. You’ll also find Romey Park is a good option for group events, walking and biking paths, and just having some fun outdoors. A number of groups meet here throughout the year.

Nearby Neighborhoods to Aragona Village
