The Aragona Village neighborhood is just off Independence Blvd, giving residents easy access to much of the region. The beachfront area is about a 15 to 20 minute drive, and Town Center is just a few minutes away. If you want to buy real estate that’s also close to Norfolk, this neighborhood is a worthwhile option!
While it’s a smaller area with fewer things to do in the neighborhood itself, you still have the entire VB region to explore, thanks to the centralized location of this neighborhood. It’s among the nicest neighborhoods in Virginia Beach. From the Norfolk Botanical Gardens to some of Jake’s favorite places to get a meal, it’s worth exploring what Aragona Village can offer you if you buy a home here.

With dozens of things to do in Aragona Village, and the surrounding area, it’s easy to stay busy. What I find makes this area special is its immersive natural location. There’s ample green space throughout the city, but you’re also just a short drive to the shore. Take a look at some of the best things to do in and around the area.
Chic’s Beach
Chesapeake Beach, which is known as Chic’s Beach locally, is the best place to be on an early Saturday morning. As a bigger beach with lots of waterfront activity, it’s the best choice when you want real beach experiences that are not as touristy as Virginia Beach Oceanfront itself. Chic’s Beach is a short drive away.
Haygood Skating Center
I love that roller skating is making a comeback, and the Haygood Skating Center is the place to do it. There’s a roller rink here, but also an indoor playground (great for those super hot days) and a bowling lane. The pizza is delicious and perfect for a kid’s birthday party. Bring the family out & introduce them to your nostalgia!
Aragona Pembroke Little League Park
It’s the oldest Little League park in the area, and this is where all of the action happens in the summer evenings. There are a few open spaces at this baseball park for a game of toss while the team plays. A few pleasant walking trails reside here, too.

Since much of the neighborhood is residential, some of these locations are a few minutes outside of the city. Food Lion
It’s your go-to option for groceries and everyday services. Food Lion is a great place for fresh produce, bakery products and good prices.
Pembroke Square
Pembroke Square is another shopping destination in Virginia Beach, offering an array of shopping opportunities from Target, J.Crew Factory, Nordstrom Rack, DSW, Old Navy, Kohl’s, Coastal Edge, and more. Located next door to the shopping center, Aragona Village Shoppes is a bit newer but has a few restaurants like Bodacious Pizza & Grill, This Old House Japanese Restaurant, and The Big Grill. It’s one of the more tasty shopping centers in Aragona Village.

With this many shopping centers in Aragona Village, you may think that’s the best thing to do. However, that’s not the case. Check out some of these awesome things to do in the area. There is much to see when you take advantage of a busy city with lots of stunning outdoor spaces. The following are in or near the neighborhood.
One of the best things to do in the area is to take advantage of the fantastic days on the golf course, and Cypress Pointe Country Club is a treasure. It’s an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Thomas Clark. It’s quiet and just a few minutes from Lake Lawson and Lake Smith.
Aragona Village and Christ Presbyterian Church Park
Probably the best playground in the area, it’s located on Aragona Blvd. It’s well-maintained, quite a busy place to meet other families, and has lots of open green space. There are often things to do and events here, including local events during the holidays.
If you have a family that is sports lovers, you’ll find plenty of things to do in Aragona Village at Aragona Pembroke Little League Park. Watch the games taking place or throw a ball around yourself – no matter what you do, this is a staple outdoor area.
