Quiet but large

Landstown is in the heart of Virginia Beach, about 10 or so miles from the oceanfront. It is an established area with several townhome communities as well, and the homes range in size and features, from about 1,100 square feet up to 3,000 or more. Most were built from the mid 1980s through the 2000s, so they are newer than much of the city. Homes have sold for around $475,000 based on recent sales.

Getting Around Landstown, Virginia Beach, VA

In the heart of it all

Landstown is bordered by Princess Anne Road along its northeastern side, and Dam Neck Road runs through the area. It’s a short drive to the Princess Anne Athletic Complex and the amenities around it. NAS Oceana is about 20 minutes, Dam Neck about 15, downtown Norfolk about 25 and the oceanfront about 20.

Nearly every subdivision here has an HOA, and the townhome communities all do, so ask for the dues, the rules and what the fees cover. Parts of Landstown sit under the flight paths for Oceana, so ask about the aircraft noise zone for any address, since sellers in the higher zones must disclose it. One of the benefits of buying a home in this larger area is that everything is close to home. As noted, it’s easy enough to spend a day at the oceanfront, but closer to home there’s much to do as well, from a walk in the park to dinner with friends and quick access to the shops. Many of the newer homes here were built with energy efficient features that the older parts of the city do not have.
