Jake’s Top Things to Do in Bayside

With areas like Lake Lawson and Lake Smith to enjoy, Bayside has some amazing, oasis-like spots that are just minutes from the suburban area. There is a whopping two miles of lakefront property in this area, much of it accessible. What are some of the best things to do in Bayside? This area is all about the outdoors! At the same time, you have lots of commercial amenities – like restaurants and shops – just a few minutes away. It’s such a modern, natural vibe that it’s hard to beat!

Fishing in Lake Smith

It’s hard to find a better place for bass fishing than in Lake Smith. There’s an accessible boat launch and from Lake Smith, and you can head into the smaller Lake Lawson for even quieter (and a few secret) fishing spots. The fishing pier is the perfect place for kids to learn how to cast their first line. It’s not uncommon for residents to spend their Saturdays kayaking in this area, too.

Bayville Farms Park

Located just to the northeast is Bayville Farms Park, quite the center of activities in the area. There’s a disc golf course, basketball and volleyball courts, and walking trails. As one of the best things to do in Bayside, it’s worth taking a stroll around the park any day.

Bayside Recreation Center

This massive Bayside, Virginia Beach neighborhood recreation center is an excellent location for its group fitness programs, racquetball courts, and indoor pool with lap lanes and a diving board. Cypress Point Country Club

Norfolk Premium Outlets
