Enough distance for the countryside charm

Pungo may seem like it’s a significant distance from the Oceanfront area of the city, but it really is not. It’s about 15 miles from the Norfolk International Airport and just south of Sandrige Road. The downtown Pungo area is home to the only intersection with a light on Princess Anne Road.

Safety and rural comfort

This area has low crime and ample safety overall. With significantly less tourism than other areas, Pungo, Virginia Beach, has fewer theft and security risks.

Easy access to good schools

Pungo residents are within the Virginia Beach City Public Schools District, which provides excellent access to quality schools. Some of the nearby options include Creeds Elementary School, Floyd E. Kellam High School, Princess Anne Middle School, and the Back Bay Christian Academy.

A more laid-back area of the city

Pungo homes for sale often offer more land, bigger homes, and more custom-designed properties. You’ll find this community. It’s well known for the Strawberry Festival, which happens each year. Yet, the community as a whole continues to be small, with under 4800 people calling it home. This quiet area still offers some great real estate homes for sale that are too good to pass up.

A short drive away

There are some smaller stores and restaurants located near the community. Anderson’s is one option for shopping but many come to the area for the Cullipher Farm Market. It’s a short drive north on Princess Anne Blvd to find larger shopping areas for more luxury needs.

Nature everywhere

It’s hard to find an area of Pungo that isn’t remote and natural. Two golf courses, Hell’s Point Golf Club and Heron Ridge Golf Club, are nearby.
