These options allow you to reach Virginia Beach Town Center, Naval Station Norfolk, and other areas without long commutes.

While most residents use their own cars, public buses are available. Additionally, well-maintained roads ensure you can use your bike as well.

Thoroughgood Elementary, Independence Middle, Princess Anne High School, and Bayside High School serve this neighborhood well. The schools are known for their academic and extracurricular programs.

Anyone looking to pursue extracurricular activities can also visit the Bayside Recreation Center, which has programs for dance, martial arts, and other such activities.

Thoroughgood Commons has all the stores you need to buy necessities like groceries, medicines, etc. Pembroke Mall and Lynnhaven Mall are nearby and a good option if you want to shop from big box stores or boutique shops. Town Center Virginia Beach is another good option, which has big-brand stores and a myriad of dining and entertainment options.

While the neighborhood has numerous restaurants, my personal favorites are 1608 Crafthouse (American Cuisine), Pa’l Carajo Arepa Lounge (Venezuelan), and Marchese Italian Market & Cafe (Italian Cafe).

Thoroughgood, Virginia Beach, VA, is a neighborhood surrounded by natural attractions. Many residents hang out at the Thoroughgood Community Park, which offers walking tracks, picnic areas, and natural beauty. The Bayville Farms Park and Lake Smith—Lake Lawson Natural Area are much larger than the community park. They provide hiking trails, fishing areas, and a beautiful lake. Of course, with the Chesapeake Bay nearby, you can enjoy the beaches and water activities whenever you want.
